 Chinese Water Chestnut and Sweet Corn Dessert Recipe


  • 240g water chestnuts

  • 900cc water

  • 220g sugar

  • 480g canned sweet corn

  • 40g water chestnut powder

Serves 4


  1. Blend the water chestnut powder with 200cc of the water and set on one side.

  2. Pour the remaining water into the wok, add the chopped water chestnuts and bring to the boil. Add the sweet corn and then, slowly, the sugar.

  3. Allow the sugar to dissolved and bring the soup slowly  to the boil.

  4. Add the water chestnut powder mixture to the wok, stirring slowly.

  5. Allow to thicken and simmer. Just before serving add 20cc fine cooking oil.
