Asian Recipes - Mussels in Sambal Tumis Recipe

Ingredients

  • 900 g mussels or other shellfish

  • coriander leaves and spring onion tops

For the rempah:

  • 4 pieces garlic

  • 2 slices of fresh ginger

  • 5 small red onions

  • 5 chilies

Serves 4


Method:

  1. Pounded together the Rempah ingredients.

  2. Fry the rempah in about 4 tbsp oil, until fragrant.

  3. Add a drop of water to prevent sticking and burning.

  4. Add the mussels or cockles and fry over a high flame for about 2-3 minutes, or until the shells burst open.

  5. Garnish with coriander leaves and chopped spring onion tops.
