Asian Meats Recipes - Malaysian Stir-Fried Beef Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 Tbs. dark soy sauce

  • 2 garlic cloves, crushed

  • 2 tsp. cornstarch

  • 1 tsp. sugar

  • 1 1/2 lb. rump steak, cut into strips

  • 4 Tbs. vegetable oil

  • 3in. piece of fresh green ginger, peeled and chopped

  • 1 cup bean sprouts

Serves 4-6


Method:

  1. Combine the soy sauce, garlic, corn flour (cornstarch) and sugar in a shallow bowl.

  2. Add the beef strips and mix well. Cover and set aside for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. Heat the oil in a large frying-pan. When it is hot, add the ginger and stir-fry for 3 minutes. Add the beef mixture and stir-fry for 5 minutes.

  4. Stir in the bean sprouts and stir-fry for a further 4 minutes.

  5. Spoon into a warmed bowl and serve at once.
