Chinese Recipes - Chicken with Green Pepper Recipe

Ingredients

  • 3 green peppers

  • 3 dried mushrooms, soaked

  • 1 bamboo shoot

  • 1/2 green onion, cut up

  • 1 clove garlic, halved

  • 250 g (9 oz) boneless chicken

  • 1 teaspoon cooking wine

  • dash ginger powder

  • 1/2 egg white

  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch

  • oil for frying

  • 3 tablespoons oil 

  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt

  • 1 tablespoon wine

  • 1/2 teaspoon sugar

  • monosodium glutamate (MSG) to taste

4 servings


Method:

  1. Dice chicken, mushroom, bamboo shoot, and green pepper.

  2. Season chicken with wine, ginger. Add egg white. Mix in starch. Fry in 140° (280°F) oil. Drain.

  3. Heat oil. Sauté garlic, onion, green pepper, mushroom. Add in the salt, wine, sugar and MSG.

  4. Add in chicken. Stir. Turn off heat and serve.
