Chinese Recipes - Egg Drop Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 6 cups soup stock

  • 80 g (2.8oz) spinach

  • 2 eggs

  • 4 clouds ears

  • 1 teaspoon salt

  • 1 tablespoon cooking wine

  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce

  • dash of monosodium glutamate (MSG)

  • dash of pepper

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch

4 servings


Method:

  1. Wash and cut spinach into 4 cm (1.6 inch) pieces.

  2. Slightly beat eggs. Soak clouds ears.

  3. Bring soup to boil. Add spinach and clouds ears. Bring to boil.

  4. Add salt, wine, soy sauce, MSG and pepper and cornstarch diluted with water.

  5. Drop in eggs. Serve immediately.
