Chinese Recipes - Fried Fish Balls  Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 boneless fish, about 3/4lb in weight

  • 1 beaten egg yolk and 1 beaten egg

  • 1 tsp MSG

  • 1 dessertspoonful sesame oil

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 1/2lb cucumbers or 2 carrots, cut into thin slices

  • 1 dessertspoonfuls tapioca four or corn flour

  • 2 or 3 tbsp golden bread crumbs

  • 1lb peanut oil or vegetable oil

4 servings


Method:

  1. Clean the fish well. Use a chopper, place it sideways and press the fish or pound the fish finely.

  2. Add salt, pepper, sesame oil, and the beaten egg yolk.

  3. Form mixture into fish balls, Toss in beaten egg mixture and roll the balls in a plate of golden bread crumbs.

  4. Fry fish balls in heated pan or frying pan, filled with peanut oil. Fry till golden brown.

  5. Garnish with slices of cucumber and carrots.
