Chinese Recipes - Spiced Chicken Giblets Recipe

Ingredients

  • 200 g (7 oz) chicken liver

  • 200 g (7 oz) chicken gizzard

  • 1 tablespoon cooking wine

  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce

  • 1 tablespoon cooking wine

  • 1/2 stalk green onion (cut)

  • 1 slice ginger

  • 3 star aniseeds

  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame oil

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

4 servings


Method:

  1. Cover giblets with 1 tablespoon wine and water. Bring to boil.

  2. Drain and wash off scum.

  3. Place in bowl. Mix with soy sauce, cooking wine, green onion, ginger, and star aniseeds.

  4. Steam for 2 hours. Add sesame oil and sugar.

  5. Heat in pan till sauce thickens. Slice and serve cold.
