Chinese Recipes - Steamed Ravioli  Recipe

Ingredients

  • 10-15 pieces of Won Ton pastry or ravioli pastry

  • 1/2lb minced pork or chicken meat

  • 1lb minced pork or crab meat

  • salt and pepper to taste

  • 1 stalks of spring onions, finely chopped

  • 3 or 4 pieces Chinese mushrooms, soak in water for 15 minutes and finely chopped

  • 1 tsp MSG

  • 1 egg yolk

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

  • 1 beaten egg

4 servings


Method:

  1. Mix minced pork or chicken meat in a bowl.

  2. Add minced prawns or crab meat, salt, pepper, spring onions, MSG, mushrooms, and egg yolk. Stir well.

  3. Place 1 dessertspoonful of the above mixture on to half of the pastry. Use a pastry brush or tips of the fingers to spread the beaten egg on to the edges of the Ravioli pastry. Fold then well.

  4. Steam for 15 to 20 minutes. On a plate which has been greased with a tablespoon of cooking oil.

  5. Serve on a dish encircled with pieces of cucumber and slices of carrots. Serve whilst hot or cold with 2 tbsp of tomato sauce, chili sauce or sweet and sour sauce.
