Chinese Recipes - Whole Chicken Soup Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1 tender chicken

  • 8 cups boiling water

  • 1/4 stalk green onion

  • 1 slice ginger

  • 1 tablespoon cooking wine

  • 2 1/2 teaspoons salt

  • dash of monosodium glutamate (MSG)

4 servings


Method:

  1. Wash chicken well. Cover with water and boil 2-3 minutes.

  2. Drain and wash off excess from chicken with water.

  3. Place whole chicken in deep pot. Add cut ginger and green onion.

  4. Add 8 cups of boiling water and simmer 1- 1 1/2 hour, remembering to remove excess from soup regularly.

  5. Add seasoning. Serve chicken whole.
