Dried Meat with Coconut (Dendeng Ragi) Recipe
Ingredients

cooking oil
-
1 onion (grated)

3 cloves garlic
(finely chopped)

2 red chilies (seeded
& finely chopped)
-
1/2 teaspoon ground
black pepper
-
1 1/2 teaspoons ketumbar/ground
coriander
-
1/2 teaspoon jintan
putih/ground cummin
-
1lb. (500 g.) rump
steak (sliced into thin 2-in./5-cm. squares)
-
1/2 lb. (250 g.) fresh
grated young coconut
Seasoning
Ingredients:
Serves 4
Method:

Heat 2 tablespoons oil in skillet.
Sauté onion,
garlic, chilies, black pepper, coriander and cumin,
till onion is soft.

Add meat and fry till color changes.
-
Lower heat,
add seasoning ingredients and coconut. Stir till
meat is cooked, coconut is evenly browned, and the
mixture is dry.
-
Dish up and serve with a rice
meal or use to make sandwiches.
