(Bistik Daging) Recipe
Ingredients

1lb.
(500 g.) rumpsteak (tenderized; remove sinews)

salt, pepper &
nutmeg to taste

2 tablespoons
vinegar
-
2 dessertspoons
kicap asin/light soy sauce
-
1/2 cup margarine
-
1/2 cup stock
-
1/2 cup evaporated
milk
-
1 tablespoon
butter
-
1 dessertspoon
flour (blend to a paste with water)

12 oz. (375 g.)
potatoes (make chips)

1 bunch lettuce
(separate & wash leaves)

4 eggs
(hard-boiled, shelled & quartered)
Serves 4
Method:
-
Rub seasoning into meat. Marinate 2-3
hours. Drain and reserve
marinade.

Heat margarine to smoking point
and fry meat. Brown well on both sides. Cook
till well-done. Drain and keep aside.

Reduce heat to medium. Add
reserved marinade to same fat. Mix in stock,
milk, butter and seasoning ingredients. Stir
well.

Blend in flour-paste. Bring to
the boil, then remove from flame. Pour into a
sauce dish.

Slice cooked steak thinly.
Garnish attractively and serve with sauce.
