Asian Meats Recipes - Indonesian Hot Crispy Steak (Dendeng Panggang Bumbu) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. (250 g.) rump steak (thinly sliced)

  • salt to taste

  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil

  • 8 green chilies (seeded & coarsely pounded)

  • 4 medium onions (cut into wedges)

  • 2 tablespoons vinegar

Serves 4


Method:

  1. Season well the meat with salt. Put under low griller heat for 3/4 hour. Remove and turn all the slices over. Grill for another 3/4 hour.

  2. Heat oil. Stir-fry chilies and onions for 1 minute.

  3. Add grilled meat and any cooking juice. Mix well, then add vinegar. Adjust seasoning. Remove from flame.

  4. Serve with boiled white rice and other dishes.
