Meat Slice in Gravy (Lapis Daging) Recipe
Ingredients

1 lb. (500 g.) beef
(sliced into large thin pieces)
-
8 shallots
-
8 cloves
garlic
-
10 white peppercorns
-
10 black peppercorns
-
2
eggs beaten together with
6
dessertspoons kicap asin/soy sauce
-
4 tablespoons
margarine
-
2 big onions (sliced)
-
4 bunga cengkih/cloves
-
2 2-inch (5 cm.)
kayu manis/cinnamon sticks
-
1/4 cup water
Serves 4
Method:
-
Ground the shallots, garlic,
white and black peppercorn.
Season well the meat with the ground
ingredients. Mix in egg-mixture. Keep aside.

Heat margarine and fry onions till golden.

Add meat mixture, cloves and cinnamon sticks.
Fry till meat is cooked and tender.
-
Add
water. Blend well. Remove from heat.
-
Serve with boiled white rice, pickles and
vegetables.
