Mince Pie (Pastel Daging) Recipe
Ingredients
Seasoning
Ingredients for Mince:

salt & pepper to taste

a dash grated nutmeg

2 sprigs daun
sup/Chinese celery (chopped)

1 clove garlic fried & pounded

1 big onion, fried
& pounded
Pastry Ingredients:
Serves 4
Method:

Season mince and let
stand for 20-30 minutes.

To
prepare
filling. Heat margarine and fry
meat mixture till
brown. Add water. Simmer till dry. Adjust seasoning.
Remove from heat and let stand to cool.

To
prepare
pastry. Mix together the flour, fat
and egg yolks. Add
enough water to obtain a manageable dough. Knead
well. Let stand for 1 hour.

Roll out dough
thinly. Cut out into 4-inch (8-cm.) rounds. Fill
each round with a little cooked mince. Fold over and
crump edges to seal.

Heat oil and deep-fry pies
till golden brown and crisp. Drain. Serve hot.
