Javanese Fried Rice (Nasi Goreng Jawa) Recipe
Ingredients

1/4 lb. (125 g.) rump
steak (sliced into thin strips)

1/4 lb. (125 g.)
prawns (shelled & deveined)
-
2 tablespoons
cooking oil
-
2 tablespoons water
-
3 cups cooked rice
-
2 teaspoons ghee
-
salt to taste

2 eggs (made into
omelet & shredded)

1 cucumber (diced)
-
6 shallots (sliced &
fried)

4 krupuk ikan/fish
crackers (crushed)
-
4 lettuce leaves (shredded)
Serves 4
Method:
-
Season meat and
prawns. Leave aside for
15-20 minutes.
-
Heat oil. Stir-fry
pounded ingredients till cooked.
-
Add meat and prawns.
Stir on high
flame for 2 minutes.
-
Reduce heat. and add
water. Simmer for 1 minute.
-
Add rice and mix well.
Add ghee and salt to taste. Stir on medium heat till
well mixed and heated through.
-
Remove from flame.
Garnish and serve hot.
