Pickle (Acar Telur) Recipe
Ingredients
-
6 eggs
-
2 tablespoons cooking
oil
-
5 buah keras/candlenuts,
finely pounded
-
1 slice kunyit/turmeric
root, finely pounded
-
3 slices ginger root,
finely pounded
-
1 cup water
-
salt to taste
-
1 cup vinegar
-
6 shallots (peeled &
lightly crushed)
-
6 green chilies (slit
& seeded)
Serves 6
Method:
-
Hard-boil eggs, shell, then make lengthwise slits in
eggs without cutting through.
-
Heat oil and
stir-fry pounded paste till oil
surfaces. Add water and salt to taste.
-
Add vinegar, shallots, chilies and eggs.
-
Boil
the mixture for 5 minutes. Adjust seasoning.
-
Remove from flame. Allow to cool, then store in a
sterilized bottle.
