Fruity Cake Slices
(Tar Seri) Recipe
Ingredients

3 oz. (90 g.)
butter/margarine
-
1 oz. (30 g.) fine sugar
-
8 oz. (250 g.) flour
-
1 teaspoon baking powders
-
1 egg-yolk
-
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
Filling Ingredients:
-
1/4 cup raisins
-
1/4 cup sultanas
-
1/4 cup fine sugar
-
2 apples (peeled, cored &
cubed)
-
1 teaspoon ground kayu
manis/ground cinnamon
-
2 oz. (60 g.) cashew nuts
(chopped)
-
1 tablespoon mixed peel
Serves 6
Method:
-
Shifted the fine sugar, flour and baking powder.
Cream together the butter and sugar. Add flour and
egg-yolk. Blend till smooth.

Add vanilla essence.
Knead well.

Divide the dough into two portions.
Roll out each to 1/2-inch (1.2-cm.) thickness.

To
prepare
filling. Mix together all the ingredients.
Sprinkle over one portion of dough. Cover with the
other. Lightly press down, making sure that the
filling does not spill out.

Slice as desired,
using a sharp knife. Place on a greased baking tray.
Bake in a hot oven (450F /gas mark 8), till golden
and cooked.

Cool and serve.
