Asian Sweets and Cakes Recipes - Javanese Pudding (Pudding Jawa) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 2 cups yellow tepung hoenkue/green-pea flour

  • 2 cups sugar

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 6 cups thick santan/thick coconut milk

  • 1lb (500 g.) tinned sweet corn

Serves 6


Method:

  1. Mix together the green-pea flour, sugar and salt. Blend in coconut milk. Place in a heavy saucepan or double-boiler.

  2. Bring to the boil over medium flame, stirring continuously.

  3. Add com. Stir till very thick and bubbles begin to burst on the surface. Remove from flame.

  4. Immediately pour into a mould. Smoothen the surface and allow to cool.

  5. Chill. Cut as desired and serve.
