Stewed Banana Blossoms (Tumis Jantung Pisang) Recipe
Ingredients

1 jantung pisang/banana
blossom (peeled & finely sliced)

boiling water, to
cook
-
3 tablespoons cooking
oil
-
2 medium onions
(sliced)
-
3 cloves garlic
(sliced)

1-inch (2.5.cm.)
piece terasi/dried shrimp paste (dry-fried)

salt to taste

Method:

Boil blossom in the
water till tender. Drain well. Keep aside.

Heat
oil. Stir-fry onions and garlic till golden.

Add shrimp paste and
blossom. Season to taste. Add a little water and
cook covered over low heat till mixture boils
rapidly.

Adjust seasoning. Remove from flame.

Serve hot with boiled white rice, rich fish
dishes and hot sambals.
Note:
For a better flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon ground black
pepper when putting in the shrimp paste and blossom.
