Stewed French Beans (Sayur Oseng Oseng) Recipe
Ingredients

3/4 lb. (375 g.) French
beans
-
4 tablespoons cooking
oil
-
1-inch (2.5.cm.) piece laos/galangal (crushed)
-
4 daun salam/2 bay
leaves
-
1 teaspoon gula Jawa/palm
sugar
-
1 dessertspoon salt
-
1-inch (2.5-cm.) piece terasi/dried
-
shrimp paste
(dry-fried)
-
3 buah keras/candlenuts
-
1 cup water
Finely-sliced
Ingredients:

3 big onions
-
3 cloves
garlic
-
6 red chilies
Serves 4-6
Method:
-
String French beans
and slice diagonally into fairly thin pieces.

Heat oil and stir-fry pounded and sliced
ingredients.

Add galangal, salam or bay leaves
and French beans.
-
Add water and stew till just
cooked.
-
Adjust seasoning and remove from flame.
Discard galangal and salam or bay leaves.

Serve
hot with boiled white rice.
