Mix
(Sayur Manis) Recipe
Ingredients

1 can whole young com
(drained & sliced lengthwise)
-
1/4 lb. (125 g.)
pumpkin (thinly sliced)
-
1/2 lb. (250 g.) bayam/spinach
(leaves picked & stalks sliced)
-
2 daun pandan/Screwpine
leaves
-
2 2-inch (5-cm.) kayu
manis/cinnamon sticks
-
3 daun salam/1 bay
leaf
-
salt to taste
-
11 shallots,
pounded
-
4 cloves
garlic, pounded
-
1 slice kencur/wild
ginger, pounded
-
1 1/2 cups stock
Serves 4-6
Method:
-
Combine Screwpine leaves, cinnamon, salam or bay
leaves, salt, pounded ingredients and stock. Bring
to the boil on medium flame.

Add corn and
pumpkin. Cook till tender.
-
Adjust seasoning. Add
spinach. Leave covered for 2 minutes, then take off
heat.
-
Serve hot with boiled white rice.
