Ingredients
For the marinade:

1 tablespoon sesame
oil
-
1 tablespoon hoisin
sauce
-
1 tablespoon honey
-
125 ml/4 fl oz (1/2
cup) sherry
-
1 tablespoon kecap
manis (sweet soy sauce)
-
1 tablespoon soy
sauce
-
1 teaspoon five-spice
powder
-
salt
-
coarsely ground
pepper
Serves
4-6
Method:
-
Whisk
all the ingredients for the marinade together.
Marinade the pork chops in this mixture
overnight.

Preheat the oven to the highest
temperature. Take the chops out of the marinade,
place on a rack with a roasting tin underneath and
cook for about 30 minutes at a temperature of
200°C (400°F),
Gas mark 6.

Baste regularly with the
remaining marinade (see illustration opposite). The
dish is very delicious served
with pak choi, soy bean (soybean) sprouts or Swiss
chard and white rice.
