Ingredients
5 tablespoons
white sesame seeds
1 tablespoon miso
2 tablespoons
mirin
1 tablespoon
tamari or dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon Japanese soy
sauce
1 tablespoon
freshly squeezed lemon juice or rice
vinegar
1/2 tablespoon
sugar
1/2 teaspoon
grated young ginger
1/4 teaspoon
ground
red pepper
1/4 cup (85 ml)
water
Method:
Dry-roast the
white sesame seeds in a skillet until light golden
brown. Do not burn the seeds or it will taste
bitter.
Place the warm
toasted seeds and all the other ingredients in a
blender. Sesame Dipping Sauce is best prepared a day
ahead for the flavors to blend. Keeps refrigerated
for 2 to 3 days.
