Sushi Recipes - Chicken Teriyaki Battleship Sushi

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce 2 tablespoons sake

  • 1 teaspoon sugar

  • 200 g (7 oz) chicken breast, skin removed and sliced into 2-cm (3/4-in) strips

  • Small bowl tezu

  • 300 g (2 cups) cooked Sushi Rice

  • 4 sheets nori, toasted and cut into 2-cm (1-in) strips


Method:

  1. Combine the soy sauce, sake and sugar in a small bowl and add the chicken strips. Marinate for 15 to 30 minutes. Drain the chicken.

  2. Grill or broil the chicken over high heat for 1 minute on each side. Remove from the heat and leave to cool to room temperature.

  3. Follow steps 3 through 5 for preparing Battleship Gunkan Sushi.

  4. When the chicken is cold, slice it very thin and arrange on top of the sushi to form battleships.
