Japanese Food Recipes - Japanese Tuna with Daikon Recipe
Sushi Recipes - Tuna with Daikon
Ingredients
250 g (8 oz) lean fresh tuna
I tablespoon sesame paste
125 g (4 oz/l cup) daikon, sliced
into matchsticks
Soy Dipping
Sauce or Ponzu Sauce
Method:
Slice the tuna 3
mm (1/8 in) thick. Cut each slice into strips
2 cm (3/4
in) wide.
Spread the sesame
paste on 1 side of each tuna strip.
To assemble, line
up 1 tablespoon of the daikon evenly so that the
sticks are parallel. Hold the daikon with the
fingertips of one hand and wrap the tuna around the
base of the daikon. The side of the tuna strip with
sesame paste should face inside, touching the daikon.
The tops of the daikon sticks should stand out
slightly above the tuna wrap.
Start the sashimi
on a serving platter and serve with either Soy
Dipping Sauce or Ponzu Sauce.
