Asian Salad Recipes - Burma Spicy Fruit Salad (Thit-Thu Sone Thoke) Recipe

Ingredients

  • 1/2 pineapple

  • 1 under-ripe mango (not raw but still quite hard)

  • 1/2 pomelo (if necessary, substitute 1 whole grapefruit)

  • 4 rose apples (if necessary, substitute 2 ordinary apples)

  • 2 teaspoons sugar

  • 1/4 teaspoon chili powder

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Serves 4


Method

  1. Peel and core the pineapple and cut the flesh into segments. Peel the mango and cut the flesh away from the stone in largish cubes.

  2. Peel the pamela and break it into segments. Halve, stone and core the rose apples, then cut them into pieces about  2.5cm (1in) square.

  3. Place all these fruits and the remaining ingredients in a bowl, mix well and serve.
