Sauces And Appetizers Recipes - Vegetable And Prawn Patties

Ingredients

  • 1 medium potato

  • 1 small carrot

  • 1 small taro

  • 250g (8oz) prawn meat

  • 1 cup plain flour

  • 3 tbsp corn-flour (cornstarch)

  • salt and black pepper

  • 1 cup vegetable oil


Method:

  1. Peel and thinly slice the vegetables, then stack the slices and cut into very fine shreds. finely chop the prawns.

  2. Make a creamy batter of flour, corn-flour (cornstarch), salt, pepper and cold water. Add the prepared ingredients.

  3. Heat half the oil in a flat pan. Add spoonfuls of the batter to cook until golden, turn and cook the other sides, drain well. Add more oil as needed while cooking the remainder of the batter.

  4. Serve with a hot chili sauce or Vietnamese sauce dip.
