Soups And Steamboat Recipes - Combination Steamboat

Ingredients

  • 100g (3 1/2 oz) lean pork, sliced

  • fish sauce

  • salt and white pepper

  • 12 medium prawns, peeled

  • 375g (12 oz) white fish fillets, sliced

  • 3 fresh squid, cleaned and sliced

  • 100g (3 1/2 oz) chicken breast, sliced

  • 1/4 Chinese white cabbage, chopped

  • 2 spring onions, chopped

  • 100g (3 1/2 oz) rice stick noodles, soaked

  • white vinegar

  • sauces for dipping


Method:

  1. Place the pork in a dish and season with salt, pepper and fish sauce, set aside for 20 minutes. Arrange the seafood, sliced meats, vegetables and noodles on separate plates.

  2. In a steamboat or other improvised tabletop cooker bring about 8 cups water to a slow boil. Add a small splash of vinegar, salt and pepper.

  3. Each guest cooks a personal choice of the ingredients, dipping them into the provided sauces.
